Döhler Invests More Than MXN 1.2 Billion and Opens a Plant in Mexico Featuring Unique Technology Worldwide

Estado de México

July 27, 2026

German company Döhler, which specializes in natural ingredients and solutions for the food and beverage industry, inaugurated a new production plant in the State of Mexico following an investment of more than MXN 1.2 billion. The project strengthens the country’s manufacturing capacity in a sector that is strategic for the economy and exports. The facility incorporates technology never before used within the group worldwide to manufacture higher-value-added ingredients.

The new facility incorporates production technology that, according to the company, is not currently available at any of the group’s other plants worldwide. This will enable the production of higher-value-added natural ingredients to meet growing demand from the global food industry.

With a presence in more than 160 countries, Döhler supplies food and beverage manufacturers through the production of specialized ingredients, concentrates, and natural solutions. Its products are exported primarily to the United States and Germany, as well as to markets in Central America, the Caribbean, and Asia.

During the inauguration, Paul Graha, CEO of Döhler Americas, said the project reflects the company’s confidence in Mexico’s industrial potential and noted that the plant has generated more than 200 jobs since construction began.

Food Industry Drives New Investment in the State of Mexico

The opening of this facility adds to the momentum of the food industry in the State of Mexico, one of the country’s leading manufacturing hubs. According to figures from the state’s Ministry of Economic Development, the region is home to more than 31,000 business establishments dedicated to food manufacturing, employing more than 146,000 people and consolidating its position as one of the sector’s main production centers.

Investment also continues to show a positive trend. Between September 2023 and May 2026, domestic companies in the sector invested MXN 8.172 billion in new projects, while foreign companies invested more than $2 billion, driving the expansion of production capacity and the development of new manufacturing operations.

New Capacity Strengthens Exports and Natural Ingredient Production

The arrival of Döhler strengthens an industry that has gained importance due to growing demand for processed foods, functional beverages, and natural ingredients. In these segments, Mexico has consolidated its position as a strategic production platform serving both the domestic market and international supply chains.

In addition to expanding the industrial capacity of the State of Mexico, the new plant will increase the production of specialized ingredients for food and beverage manufacturers operating in markets across North America, Europe, and Asia, taking advantage of the country’s logistical and commercial position.
