Capstone Copper invests more than 450 million pesos in Zacatecas

The Cozamin-Capstone Copper Mining Unit inaugurated the Tailings Filtering and Filling Plant in Zacatecas , which had an investment of more than 450 million pesos , located in Morelos, Zacatecas. 

In addition, directors of Capstone Copper , the Center for Competitiveness of Mexico (CCMX) and the Government of Zacatecas , through the Ministry of Economy (Sezac), participated in the Collaboration Signature for the Development of Local Suppliers , which has already Three other mining companies signed up.

With the generation of 533 direct and 430 indirect jobs, the Canadian company Capstone Copper is dedicated to the extraction of precious and industrial metals . In Zacatecas, the Cozamin Mining Unit also has copper reserves. On the subject of supply, its corporate policies are oriented towards the management of contractors, development of suppliers and generation of local employment.

During March 2023, the head of the Ministry of Economy , Rodrigo Castañeda Miranda, made a promotional tour of the state in Ontario, Canada, during which he attended the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada convention , where he met with the executive director of Capstone Copper , John Mackenzie, with whom he agreed to sign a letter of intent for the development of suppliers and the socioeconomic development of the area of ​​influence of the mining unit.

According to Data México , in the period from January to September 2022, direct foreign investment from Canada to Zacatecas reached 7,000 million dollars. During the third quarter of 2022, there were 75,601 people who worked in the mining industry in the state.
