The plant will produce gear levers for automatic transmissions
The company GHSP México inaugurated its expansion of operations in Saltillo, Coahuila, where it invested 10.2 million dollars . In addition, it will generate 70 new jobs, adding to the staff of 230 workers who are already working.
GHSP is a leading provider of mechanical and electromechanical systems manufacturing for the automotive , transportation and home appliance industries, with a presence in three countries globally.
The company originally from Michigan, United States, will be producing gear levers for automatic transmissions at this plant.
Bernardo Ortiz, director of the GHSP Plant, stated that the expansion was necessary because in the current warehouse they no longer had enough space to continue growing. It should be noted that in 2022 they started a project with Honda ( Accord, ILX and HRV ), and are currently starting other products for Stellantis RAM Rotary, which has new technology for calibrating and operating the gear lever.
“This forced us to need more space. We are also expanding our product portfolio and have started an actuator project for American Axle Manufacturing , also for the final customer of Stellantis ”.
He said that the expansion is aligned with the growth and increase in exports to South America and Europe, maintaining the current range of suppliers.
To be a sustainable manufacturing plant , they installed motion-sensing LED technology lamps throughout the warehouse, ensuring that when not needed, the lamp is automatically turned off, helping to reduce electricity consumption.
GHSP IN MEXICO

GHSP is celebrating 15 years of presence in Mexico, beginning its operations with the lease of a space in the Ventura Manufacturing plant in Mexico and employing 25 people at that time.
The first project was the lever for Nissan with the Sentra car platform, which was shipped to Aguascalientes. Due to rapid growth and with the additional projects Nissan Versa, March and Pathfinder , it was necessary in 2010 to transfer operations to a new warehouse in Arco Vial Zapaliname in the municipality of Saltillo.
In 2015, due to the growth with Ford Fiesta, Mondeo, Fusion, Escape and BMax projects , it was necessary to expand the warehouse in order to continue serving its customers.
In 2017, it started production of the Ecosport for Ford and the Terrain for General Motors . In 2018, Ford Transit and GM Acadia, and for 2019 the GM Yukon, Tahoe and Suburban started .
In 2020 they transferred an assembly line for the manufacture of the lever for the Wrangler & Gladiator from Stellantis and in 2022 they started the production of the gear lever for Honda HRV, Integra & Accord , reaching the limit of the capacity of the ship.
That is why they decided to move all operations to this new plant, which will give them the opportunity to have space available for clients such as Stellantis , American Axle and Toyota .
Present at the inauguration event were: Mario Mata Quintero, Secretary of Economic Development; Chris Atkins, GHSP NA Director of Operations ; Dan Dawiedczyk, GHSP President ; Claudio Bres Garza, head of the State Ministry of Economy ; Roberto Granados, Secretary General of the National Union of Workers of the Automotive Industry of the Republic of Mexico, and Bernardo Ortiz, Plant Director.
