Whirlpool places the first stone of its expansion in Coahuila

Whirlpool laid the first stone of its expansion project at its plant in Ramos Arizpe , Coahuila, where an investment of 161 million dollars is planned between 2022 and 2025.
This capital injection will be to increase the land with 34,000 square meters, which will allow the creation of the production line of French door refrigerators (French door ), whose main characteristic is the freezer in the lower part and multi-doors , and whose volume will be more than 300,000 units and will allow the creation of approximately 1,000 additional jobs.
In this formal act, the leadership team of the North American Region visited the plant, including Don Metzelaar, vice president of ISC and Quality of North America ; Ramsey Aljahmi, Senior Director of North American Processes ; Bradley Cotter, Senior Director of Human Resources for North America and Todd Tomczak, Senior Director of Finance for North America .
The event was held with the aim of beginning this new stage and recognizing the results that have led the plant to such high performance . It is worth mentioning that in March it obtained the silver level in the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) certification.
The First Stone ceremony was led by Susana Zazueta, plant manager at Ramos Arizpe; Eduardo Elizondo, vice president of operations for Mexico, and Raúl Vargas, director of operational excellence.
The French door refrigerator is in high demand and it is estimated that 90 to 95% of the production will be destined for export to the United States and Canada; and will also be available to serve consumers in Mexico and Latin America who wish to address these needs.
Given the experience and results of the plant since its creation, the company decided that Mexico will be the only country that will manufacture this line of refrigerators in the region for the first time.
