WBTL arrives in Coahuila with a million-dollar investment to promote electromobility

The company of Chinese origin, WBTL , dedicated to the manufacture of components for cars, such as chassis, suspension and braking systems , inaugurated its first plant in the state of Coahuila.

The complex is located in the Alianza Industrial Park  in Ejido Derramadero, in the Southeast Region of Coahuila and will have a land area of ​​40,000 square meters. 

Lalit Verma, WBTL advisor , emphasized that the operations they will maintain in the country will aim to promote electromobility because the automotive industry is undergoing profound changes. 

He said that the new trends have given way to intelligence in the rectification and light weight of the vehicles , which is why they need highly qualified personnel to comply with these parameters and the state of Coahuila offers them. 

"We are the first Chinese company to settle in Derramadero, this could cause the boom in Chinese prospects that are exploring the area to turn it into a hub for our country," said the manager. 

On the other hand, Lalit Verma shared that this factory will focus on the production of aluminum and that by 2024 they will inaugurate their second plant, which will be twice the size of the first, in order to complete their operations.

“In this project we are investing 48 million dollars and 550 jobs will be generated directly . With the second stage there will be another 165 million dollars and another 650 new jobs. In the end, the investment will be around 213 million dollars because we have very high expectations in the entity”, declared the interviewee.

In this context, he clarified that the market objectives they have with production in the country are to serve more than half of the automotive brands in the world and said that the added value they will provide is that the aluminum parts are lighter than steel ones and that is why they replace them in the assembly of an electric car. 

"The company has almost 20 years of experience and in that time we have been able to achieve recognition by obtaining the Chery Research and Development Innovation Award, Geely Award for excellent supplier and Supplier of the Year 2022,  by General Motors ," Lalit concluded. Verma. 

WBTL exports its products to more than 50 countries in the world, it has six research and development centers in the United States; 14 manufacturing bases and its main clients include Volvo, Stellantis, General Motors, Ford  and Nissan.
