During the laying of the first stone in Cuautlancingo, Puebla, Holger Nestler, CEO of Volkswagen in Mexico , affirmed that the plant in Puebla was promoted and won the project against other assembly plants of the group worldwide; Therefore, this is one more step in the process of placing this factory in a total use of clean energy scheme.

For his part, Pablo Di Si, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America , highlighted that the investment is part of the project to expand the manufacture of electric cars in North America and comply with the regional content requirements established in the T-MEC.

“When one announces a new paint job, it is not announced for one or two vehicles, nor for one or two, three years, it is thought 20 to 30 years from now and that is the commitment that Volkswagen de México has with Puebla. Our industry is undergoing a very rapid transformation process and Volkswagen Group of America, both in the United States, as well as in Mexico and Canada, are part of this transformation process,” he pointed out.
