Volkswagen solidifies its growth in Mexico after reaching a cumulative production of 305,790 units during the first nine months of the year, marking a 20.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

"Amid a challenging landscape for the automotive industry, both nationally and globally, maintaining our competitiveness requires continuous effort, and we are committed to strengthening our processes and continuing to offer products that meet our customers' expectations in various markets. Our focus is on progressing alongside our employees, the community, and our suppliers to face upcoming challenges together," said Holger Nestler, President & CEO of Volkswagen de México.

In September alone, the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) produced 9,118 Taos units, 17,102 Tiguans, and 9,224 Jettas, totaling 35,489 vehicles—a 12.2% increase compared to the same month last year, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

Strong Presence in Mexico

Volkswagen operates two plants in Mexico: one in Puebla, where the Jetta, Tiguan (long version), and Taos models are manufactured. This plant is considered one of the group's largest. The second plant is in Guanajuato; this facility produces the EA211 and third-generation EA888 engines for Volkswagen vehicles in North America.

In 2023, Volkswagen de México recorded a production of 349,227 vehicles at its Puebla plant and over 430,000 engines assembled at the Guanajuato plant.
