Users of the Donna-Río Bravo International Bridge grow from January to May 2023

During the first five months of 2023, the Donna-Río Bravo International Bridge has shown growth in the number of passengers in private vehicles that use it to cross the border , and the region has also attracted new investments due to the arrival of commercial projects that spark economic development.
Texas Department of Transportation (Txdot) indicates that this international highway, together with the Progreso-Weslaco International Bridge , have added 1,222,743 passenger crossings in personal vehicles, which represents an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2022, when they counted 1,048,332.
In January of this year, both crossings received 248,383 passengers; then, in February 231,798; in March, 254,672; in April, 257,032; and in May, 230,858, which also reflects monthly increases in the flow.
Statistics report that the Donna-Río Bravo International Bridge is part of the land port of Progreso, managed by Customs and Border Protection (BCP).
The Donna-Río Bravo International Bridge and the Progreso-Weslaco International Bridge concluded in 2022 with 2,696,568 personal vehicle passenger crossings.
The use of these international routes between the borders of Tamaulipas, Mexico, with Texas, United States, did not stop during the pandemic, reporting more than 1,600,000 units in 2020 and around 1,896,000 in 2021.
Increasing:
- 16% flow between January to May from 2022 to 2023.
Statistics until May 2023:
- 1,222,743 crosses.
