Unilever will invest 5,500 million pesos in Mexico to increase its production capacity

Unilever confirmed that it will invest 5.5 billion pesos (275 million dollars) in the country, to expand the production of its four plants in the country.
Reginaldo Ecclissato, president of Unilever Mexico and North of Latin America , announced that this capital injection will take place in the next three years (2021-2024), in which they will generate around 3,000 direct and indirect jobs , with which they will promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The multinational company has four factories in Mexico located in Lerma, Tultitlán (State of Mexico), Morelos and Mexico City , in which they will potentiate their innovations and their production capacity, in order to increase exports by 20,000 million pesos in the next few years .
Currently, Unilever Mexico ships its products to regions such as the United States, Canada, Caribbean countries, Central America, South America and some European countries.
The company's representative in the country said that this investment will increase the manufacture of food brand products and expand capacity in the ice cream category nationwide. In addition, they intend to increase the volume of hygiene and personal care items , which will bring innovation improvements in the products offered in Mexico and Latin America.
“Unilever Mexico is the key platform for beauty products, since it exports to 26 countries in the world, which makes us proud to be a benchmark. This investment announcement will contribute to the economic reactivation of the country, and we have a strong commitment to the economic development of the country, therefore we will continue working to find new areas of opportunity, "he said.
Unilever is present in 190 countries and arrived in Mexico in the sixties, so today they have just over 6,500 employees and 37 ice cream agencies. Among the brands that produce in the country are: Ax, Ben & Jerry's, BIOEXPERT, Cif, Cornetto, Dove, eGo, Folicuré, Hellmann's, Holland, Knorr, Magnum, Maizena, Mordisko, Nexxus, Pond's, Unilever Pure, Rexona, Savilé, Sedal , Solero, St. Ives, TRESemmé, Vasenol and Zest.
