STMA highlights security aspects in the industry and investment attraction

Mike Willis, executive director of the South Texas Manufacturers Association (STMA), held a meeting with the main representatives and leaders of economic development in the city of McAllen, where favorable expectations towards attracting new investment projects were highlighted. .
In addition, the latest industry news was provided, new members were welcomed, and a presentation was made on workplace accidents, health and safety standards, and inspections that companies must maintain, through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration . Occupational Health (Osha).
The new members of STMA are the companies Mexican Snacks , which make various types of snacks, and Aloe Laboratories , which make products derived from aloe vera, both established in Harlingen.
During the welcome he added the companies Applied Resources International and Penn Aluminum International , who recently joined at the STMA meeting in Brownsville.
Marianne McGee, Osha's regional compliance assistance specialist, was in charge of the presentation and in her message she added recommendations, protocols and statistics regarding the management of security in companies. “Accidents can occur in all industries, we must be alert and know the causes to reduce the statistics,” she commented.
A meal was offered at the meeting, where attendees took the opportunity to share business experiences and contacts.
Willis highlighted the interest of Rio South Texas businessmen in the arrival of new investments, by having trained labor, availability of space and advice from the main economic nuclei.
