During the 2024 International Foreign Trade Forum, the Starr-Camargo International Private Bridge emerged as a swift and efficient option for companies based in Nuevo León. The facilities, managed by the Starr-Camargo Bridge Company, are strategically located between the Tamaulipas and Texas border, just 200 kilometers from Monterrey.

Beatriz Castro, the International Affairs Officer of Starr-Camargo Bridge Company, highlighted the competitive advantages that extend beyond logistical connections. The bridge allows for the crossing of double-trailer trucks, overweight, and oversized loads. “The bridge is particularly attractive for companies dealing with steel and construction materials, as we permit the entry of overweight units. We are an all-encompassing option for the distribution of your loads. We invite you to get to know us; we aim to be your primary commercial access point,” Castro stated.

The forum also discussed future growth projects for the private bridge, such as the expansion to 14 lanes. This international route offers a joint inspection customs facility where agents from Mexico’s National Customs Agency (ANAM) and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) work together, reviewing goods documentation in a single location, thus streamlining logistical and compliance processes for companies.

The availability of land near the international bridge for companies to build industrial parks or logistic and warehousing distribution centers caught the interest of entrepreneurs from Nuevo León. This highlighted the appeal of utilizing this crossing for their business needs.

The forum was held in Monterrey, Nuevo León, organized by the Northeast Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade (COMCE). The attendance also included companies from across Mexico and the United States.
