The San Luis Potosí Automotive Cluster has announced a leadership transition within its Board of Directors, appointing Alberto Rosales Reyna, an executive from Lear Corporation, as the new Board President for a two-year term. The change reflects the organization’s focus on institutional continuity and long-term strategic alignment in one of Mexico’s most important automotive regions.

Rosales Reyna succeeds Marek Meister of PHINIA, whose tenure was marked by efforts to strengthen the cluster institutionally, promote innovation, and consolidate the automotive ecosystem in San Luis Potosí. At the same time, Miguel Ángel García of EJOT ATF joins the Board as Treasurer, supporting governance continuity and the advancement of ongoing strategic projects.

Leadership Transition Supports Long-Term Industry Development

The transition took place in the presence of Jesús Salvador González Martínez, Secretary of Economic Development of the State of San Luis Potosí, underscoring the close coordination between industry and government in supporting the automotive sector. The leadership change also reflects the cluster’s intention to continue advancing joint initiatives focused on competitiveness, investment attraction, and talent development.

For San Luis Potosí, this type of institutional continuity is especially relevant. The automotive industry remains one of the main pillars of the state’s economy and a major driver of employment, investment, and technological development across the Bajío region.

A New Stage for the San Luis Potosí Automotive Cluster

Under its new leadership, the cluster is expected to maintain its focus on strengthening business competitiveness, promoting innovation, developing specialized talent, and supporting deeper integration across the automotive value chain. These priorities are central to sustaining San Luis Potosí’s position as one of Mexico’s leading automotive hubs.

The transition also highlights the importance of collaboration among companies, academia, government, and strategic organizations—an approach that has helped the cluster build a strong platform for long-term industrial growth. As automotive companies continue adapting to new technologies, supplier requirements, and regional production shifts, coordinated leadership will remain essential to maintaining momentum.

Reinforcing San Luis Potosí’s Automotive Positioning

The appointment of a new board leadership team comes at a time when Mexican automotive states are competing not only on manufacturing scale, but also on governance, talent readiness, and the ability to align public and private sector priorities.

For San Luis Potosí, the cluster’s renewed leadership structure sends a clear message of continuity and forward planning. With a new president and treasurer in place, the organization is positioned to continue supporting projects that contribute to sustainable industrial growth and reinforce the state’s relevance within Mexico’s automotive landscape.
