Executives from Yokohama, Grupo Alianza, and the Government of Coahuila held a working meeting to share updates on the progress of Yokohama’s new facility in Derramadero, focusing on both construction and future production plans.
Yokohama is investing $400 million USD in this new plant, which is expected to generate over 1,000 jobs in the region. The establishment of this Japanese-owned facility in Coahuila is the result of a successful economic promotion tour through Asia in October 2023.
Construction officially began in April 2024 in the Derramadero industrial area, located in the southeastern region of Coahuila. Just over four months into the new state administration, Yokohama became the 15th confirmed investment project in the state.
During the meeting, Governor Manolo Jiménez reaffirmed his full support for Yokohama’s executives and development team, emphasizing that every company operating in Coahuila experiences success thanks to a strong business climate.
“In Coahuila, we are allies to anyone who wants to invest, work, or start a business in our state,” he said. He also reiterated that his administration, together with municipalities and other branches of government, is fully committed to creating the best conditions for attracting investment and generating quality employment across all regions of Coahuila.
