Optibelt arrives in Mexico; will invest 1,500 million pesos in Querétaro

Optibelt , a company dedicated to the production of transmission systems, will invest in San Juan del Río, Querétaro, around 1,500 million pesos  (mdp) and will generate 250 direct jobs by 2027.

In a first stage, the company, whose headquarters are located in Höxter , Germany, will invest 400 million pesos and will start with a workforce of 85 people. According to Sergio Siller García, Optibelt Operations Manager , the company's personnel will be trained in Germany for a period of four to six months.

Siller García specified that the company's investment in the demarcation will increase in stages until it reaches 1,500 million pesos. In 2024, he estimated that Optibelt  will reach an investment of 160 million pesos, of 400 million pesos in 2025 and the same amount in 2026, to later reach its investment plan of 1,500 million pesos in 2027.

During the announcement, Roberto Cabrera Valencia, municipal president of San Juan del Río, reported that the Optibelt complex will dedicate its production to meet the needs of the automotive sector.

“The municipal government of San Juan del Río has to be a facilitator and promoter of these investments. Count on the grain of sand that San Juan del Río puts in, in the paperwork, in what has to be done. They have a municipal government that is proud of its industrial sector,” he said.

On his occasion, Jorge Rivadeneyra Díaz, general director of DALE Desarrollos, the industrial park in which the German company will be housed, highlighted the confidence of the business community in investing in the region.

The Arntz Optibelt Group has eight production sites in six countries around the world.
