In the following weeks, new investment and industrial development projects will arrive in the city of Edinburg , Texas, through the North Industrial Park, with the placement of more than 16,184 square meters of new construction for various items and aspects of commerce.

The executive director of the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC), Raudel Garza, reported that the first of these projects will land in late July, being a local driving school that bought six acres to have a test and training site for commercial truck drivers, in a 4,000-square-foot facility .

While in a period of 30 to 60 days another company dedicated to agricultural products will build a new cold storage facility with an extension of 4,645 square meters, which translates into an expansion of 3,642 hectares in the industrial park

Another of the upcoming constructions is the one that will be carried out by an international logistics company, covering 4,451 hectares for the construction of around 9,290 square meters, as part of the first phase of its project during the following semester.

A 0,971-hectare piece of land is also expected to be finalized for a back office company , which plans to build 1,858 square meters for fleet maintenance and office operations, as well as additional space for other local companies to rent.

Garza detailed the completion of other contracts, such as that of a bus company that recently inaugurated its facilities in North Industrial Park and will continue with phase 2.

He added that there is a plastic injection molding company that will also occupy an important space in the industrial area, so the transaction represents the last available leasing site. “The existing buildings are 100% occupied ,” Raudel noted.

At the moment EEDC still owns approximately 20,234 of other land, but most of the property remains under negotiation, with at least three companies in the finalization of contracts.
