Martin Technologies: Technology suppliers for the automotive industry in Ramos Arizpe and the Southeast region.

Martin Technologies, subsidiary of Martin Engineering, is an American company that supplies the automotive sector of the Southeast region of Coahuila and it is located in the Amistad Industrial Park since January this year, aiming to consolidate their operations in the automotive branch and in a future to expand their operations in Mexico.

According to Harold Martin, CEO of the company, this is an international company leader in development, manufacturing and innovation of products that manage solid materials in bulk cleaner, safer and more productive.

“We are excited with the opening of this plant which will be focused in being a supplier of the automotive sector of the region and of other parts of the country.  We believe we can help covering their needs with what we manufacture,” said the directive.

Martin offers technologies that control the generation of dust, reduce the spill of material and increase the useful life of the transporter components, all this with the objective of improving the efficiency of operation, creating an environment of safety and increase its plant profitability.

As time passed by, the different branches of the company have acquired skills and strategical experience in areas such as the advanced design of the engine, cylinder coating, piston ring technologies, friction characteristics, handling and manufacturing of electronic engines and power brakes, as well as manufacturing and instrumentation.

“We started as engine testing suppliers, but we increasingly have expanded the service to our customers, in engineering products and manufacturing,” he added.

The plant in Ramos Arizpe, has 2,500 square meters of territory, it will be focused in providing services to the automotive sector in the region and of other parts of the country, highlighting among its customers FCA, GM, BMW, Volkswagen, among other big automotive companies.

“Coahuila is a strategic place to provide better services to the customer and in addition because there is a great technological service and of supply,” said the CEO of the company in an interview for Mexico Industry.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPANY

Founded in 1996, in Detroit, Michigan, and with almost 1,000 workers around the world, Martin Technologies continue to consolidate as one of the companies getting stronger in the automotive industry with engineering and manufacturing services, although that is not the only branch in which they are dabbling, since they are also present in the aerospace industry, as well as in the defense sector, working specially with the American army providing the Department of Defense and military contractors testing and certification, data acquisition, engineering analysis and more.

The company has 15 patents worldwide, some have been implemented in an innovative manner in the automotive industry, world-class example of contributions of Harold Martin they include the design and development of the first combustible electronic injection engine (EF.)

AMBITIOUS PLANS

Martin Technologies is around the world, achieving to be present in the United States, Brazil, Philippines, Malesia, China, Australia, as well as in different countries of the European Union, exporting worldwide where their customers need.  With the recent arrival to Mexico, the American company seeks settling to consolidate their different projects.

“Since its beginnings the company has grown 2,000 %, since it originally started with four employees and today we are seeking to make here our second home.  This is our first plant settled in Mexico and we have growth plans in a short term here in Coahuila and in a long term we seek to expand in Mexico,” said Brian Jones, vice-president of the North American firm.

BETTING ON EDUCATION

“We are sure that working in schools and universities will work to prepare students for the productive sector, and it will help us to be a technological center and leader in Mexico,” said about the alliance seeking to be formed with the educational institutions in the region.

“I would like to help educating students and workers, I can share my technology, my ideas and be part of the next Harold Martin just here,” he ended.
