The company of American origin, Lennox , which is dedicated to the manufacture of air conditioning systems, will open its first production plant for the commercial sector in Mexico in Coahuila.
This will be the company's fourth factory in the state , since in 2008 it installed the first one in the Amistad Aeropuerto Industrial Park .
Later, in 2014 to be exact, it inaugurated the second one on the same campus, and in 2021 it announced that it would build a third production center, which it inaugurated in May 2023.
However, the firm dedicated its operations to serving only the residential market, so the new complex will only manufacture air conditioning equipment for companies from different types of industry.
Miguel Gutiérrez, vice president of operations for Lennox in Mexico , highlighted that they chose Coahuila again due to the competitiveness of the market and that they have verified that they have been operating over these 15 years.
He also stressed that this project is very large due to the high demand of the commercial sector for its products.
In this sense, he said that the ship, which will be installed in the Chuy María Industrial Park , will have a territorial extension of 80,000 square meters, for which they will employ 700 people and invest the amount of 122.5 million dollars to start operations at the beginning of the 2024.
For his part, Fred Baker, director of manufacturing programs, commented that the Lennox corporate sees Ramos Arizpe and Coahuila as a second home .
He said that all this journey began in 2007, when they visited a vacant lot and built their first plant of 36,000 square meters.
“In 2009 we manufactured our first air conditioning system here. When we arrived, we met very enthusiastic people who were very committed to working, for this reason we grew too fast and by March 2013 we had already exceeded our expectations. We knew it was time to make a new investment”, declared the manager.
In that sense, he said that they intended to build their new plant in Parque Amistad Aeropuerto and connect the residential market with the commercial one, however, with all the expansions that they have had in this decade, the available land ran out.
Finally, Fred Baker added that they could celebrate another expansion because everything is possible and the expectations on this project are very high.
