Labor Productivity in Tamaulipas Grows by 4.9% in the Second Quarter of 2023

During the second quarter of 2023, labor productivity in
Tamaulipas increased by approximately 4.9%. This surge, spanning April to June
2023, positions the state favorably on the national stage, surpassing states
such as Nuevo León, Querétaro, and Guanajuato.
Furthermore, in the second quarter of the year, the index of
unit labor costs in this industry rose by 3.3 percent.
Tamaulipas' performance shines in the latest report from the
Global Labor Productivity Index of the Economy (GLPIE). Industries in Tamaulipas
have also outperformed those in Jalisco, Coahuila, Campeche, Durango, the State
of Mexico, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, and Veracruz.
Regarding labor costs based on hours worked, Tamaulipas saw
an increase of 14.6% in the category of wholesale trade, based on total
personnel.
From a national perspective, at the close of the first
semester of 2023, the GLPIE showed positive statistics in productivity across
various sectors. Notably, there was a 15.4% increase in labor productivity in
the construction industry, 2.9% in manufacturing, 3.1% in retail trade, and
6.1% in private non-financial services.

Within the Monthly Industrial Activity Indicators by Federal
Entity (IMAIEF), Tamaulipas demonstrated impressive growth of 9.6% in the
generation, transmission, distribution, and commercialization of electricity,
water supply, and natural gas through pipelines between May 2022 and May 2023.
As a result, the state secured the tenth position nationwide.
