Japan and the USA to join their capital to settle new technology in production plant

The American company, American Standard, implemented a new high quality Turkish technology at its plant located in Aguascalientes, completely automated and with controls that allow eliminating the variation of operators during the process.  They acquired last technology English dryers and, they also bought two forefront furnaces imported directly from Germany.

This expansion project represented an investment of about 20 million dollars for the company.  They bought the equipment to expand their plant in Aguascalientes to make 16 casting lines.  With that they seek increasing production in 48 percent.

The new technology of American Standard will increase its productivity, since they anticipate manufacturing 1,100,000 pieces per year and will improve the agronomic conditions for its associates.

More than 1700 people worked during the construction process, and they supported on 65 supplying companies, which benefited the community of Aguascalientes with new jobs.

In 2014 and 2015 American Standard started the construction of all the companies that they settled in Mexico, since then the Japanese company, LIXIL Water Technology Americas, supported them with an investment on equipment, infrastructure and also in production.

Ryuichi Kawamoto San, CEO de LIXIL, visited the Aguascalientes plant several times providing them with a guideline for their manufacturing project, they have also helped them to identify the needs of capability during this entire process, likely they contributed with the capital investment expense and in everything they needed for equipment installation.

Grupo LIXIL has 93 production plants worldwide and with the increase of new lines in Aguascalientes their capability grows and its contribution to the total work done by such company will have more presence.

The objective of the Japanese and American capital fusion will not only be to increase their capabilities and production amount, but that through continuous improvement they will be more effective in daily operations that will continue to be developed to make quality products.

They will be generating about 400 direct jobs and a little more than 1,000 indirect jobs, among suppliers and external services.

Finishing the expansion, the company will have the largest plant worldwide dedicated to the manufacture of ceramics with a volume of 3,4 million pieces a year.

“Aguascalientes characterizes for having highly trained people from an operator level to administrative, it is an entity where the industry has grown in the last 10 years in an exponential manner, the state and companies have been concerned for the development of the people of Aguascalientes.  Today we do not have a problem with people’s capability to adapt to the new processes, we even developed a strategy where in this expansion evolution we mixed experienced people with new talents, in such manner that current employees adapt to what is recent, have fresh eyes, but that experienced people can transfer them the knowledge,” ended Eduardo Arias, plant manager.
