ITP Aero Mexico invest 35.2 million pesos in expansion

The plant Externals from ITP Aero Mexico opened the
expansion of its facilities in Queretaro, which meant an investment of 35.2
million pesos.
According to the company’s information, the increase
in the activity with the new investment will grow the workforce in Mexico in 40
new positions during the period 2018-2019.
In addition, a 9 % increase in production of a pipeline is anticipated,
which will represent 327,000 pipes and 230,000 end-fittings in 2020.
During the formal act, Carlos Alzola Elizondo, CEO of
ITP Aero, held that “the expansion works are aligned with the growth plans
settled on the Strategic Plan ITP 2020, which includes intensifying industrial
investments and respond to growth forecasts from the world aeronautic industry. In this case, in the External area, a growing
business division.”
Meanwhile, the general director of ITP Aero in Mexico,
Juan Carlos Corral Martin, said that for the last three years ITP Aero has
grown 22 % in employment and it is the company of the state of Queretaro and
from all over Mexico with less personnel turnover, therefore it has increased
its production in 40 percent.
ITP Aero facilities in Mexico located at the Benito
Juarez Industrial Park, have more than 800 employees working in the engineering
areas, manufacture and engine testing.
Since 2016, the company has invested 200 million pesos on its Queretaro
facilities.
Within the products portfolio developed in Mexico are
casings, structural elements, seals, tubes and end-fittings of aeronautical
engines.
The state governor, Francisco Dominguez Servien,
highlighted ITP Aero qualities, which has positioned as the ninth engines and
aeronautic components company worldwide, “we celebrated the expansion of the
facilities in the External area, in piping manufacturing, as well as in fittings
or machining manufacturing which is a business area growing inside the company
as result of the sector’s growth, of aerial traffic, but also for the growing
requirements, technological as well as environmental engines have, which
generates Externals having increasing responsibility, technology, and
differentiation.”
This expansion, he added, settles the bases for future
industrial projects in favor of its customers such as Rolls Royce or General
Electric which serve commercial sectors.
The executive underlined that besides the plant growth obeys to a strong demand of the products they manufacture, whose seals are quality, excellence, and environmental respect; as well as the integration of new jobs that join the more than 8,500 positions supported by the aeronautic sector in Queretaro.
AERONAUTIC SECTOR
Dominguez Servien said that the aeronautic sector in
the Queretaro entity reached an increase of 7.5 % in 2018 regarding 2017 in the
export of transportation equipment, which positions Queretaro as the first
state, in line with Mexico City, in this kind of imports.
He detailed that transportation equipment
manufacturing grew 3.3 % in 2018, compared with the previous year, while the
Aero Cluster Queretaro registered growth in companies of 200 % in the last 10
years.
For these and many other factors, said the governor
when quoting a report from the Financial Times Group, Queretaro is the 4th
destination for aeronautic investment in the world and the tenth city worldwide
regarding aerospace sector performance.
Francisco Dominguez asked workers and ITP Aero directives in Mexico to continue working together with the seven academic institutions in the entity focused on the sector and with the 12 research and design centers, aiming to achieve a sustained sectorial growth from SMEs.

The company expansion is in the piping and fittings
industrial building, as well as in productive industrial space and offices.
The governor, together with the honor line, held the
opening ribbon cut and together with the CEO of ITP Aero unveiled the
commemorative plate.
At the event were present Marco Antonio del Prete
Tercero, secretary of Sustainable Development in the State; Luis Alvarez Rubio,
executive director of operations at ITP Aero; Mario Ramirez Retolaza, chief of
the office of the Ministry of Labor in the State; Jesus Catalina Sanz, general
director of Externals; the Executive Committee of ITP Aero Spain, as well as
the ITP Committee of Aeromexico and members of Aero Cluster.
