INDEX Nacional unveils its 2024–2027 strategy to enhance institutional leadership, binational collaboration, and competitiveness for the IMMEX sector in the face of global economic and logistical challenges.
With strong participation from industrial leaders and regional representatives, INDEX Nacional held its 2024–2027 Tactical Planning Meeting, led by national president Humberto Martínez Cantú. The session focused on defining strategic priorities in response to an evolving global landscape marked by economic, trade, and logistics challenges.
The meeting addressed key issues for enhancing the role of INDEX within Mexico’s export-driven economy, including:
- Institutional representation
- Effective policy advocacy
- Strategic dialogue with authorities
- Multisectoral collaboration
These pillars aim to position INDEX as a modern, high-impact organization with operational strength and leadership in the Manufacturing, Maquiladora, and Export Services Industry (IMMEX).
Reinforcing Representation and Operational Reach
INDEX’s planning efforts emphasized strengthening its presence in key decision-making spaces and advancing a binational agenda in collaboration with both the Mexican and U.S. governments—particularly on issues affecting the maquiladora and export manufacturing sectors.
Regional leaders such as Zelina Fernández (General Director, INDEX Nuevo León), Felipe A. Villarreal (President), and Aliscair Vega Alcántara (Secretary), contributed valuable perspectives to shape a national strategy grounded in local insights and long-term vision.
A Forward-Looking Agenda for the Export Industry
Through this strategic planning process, INDEX aims to provide greater certainty and global competitiveness for the thousands of IMMEX companies and millions of workers powering Mexico’s export economy.
The 2024–2027 roadmap promotes regional coordination, institutional engagement, and collaborative governance, establishing a framework to support the sector’s continued growth in a rapidly shifting global environment.
