HEDC participates in RGV2DC in Washington DC

The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) participated in the RGV2DC 2023 in the city of Washington DC, an event organized by the Río Grande Valley Partnership (RGV Partnership), in order to boost economic growth, improve infrastructure, promote education, workforce development as well as advocating for new policies to benefit Rio South Texas. 

Through the consolidation of business leaders, elected officials and community members to defend the interests of the region. 

Beverly Ticer Loftus, HEDC Interim Manager and CEO , traveled along with HEDC Chairman of the Board Javier de Leon , as well as serving as event sponsors. “ HEDC was honored to partner with them on this trip and we look forward to what's to come ,” said Beverly Ticer Loftus.

HEDC supported all efforts to collaborate with federal officials, advocate for policies and resources that can enhance community progress and prosperity. “We have an exceptional group of leaders who are constantly fighting on behalf of our region,” he added.

During the RGV2DC, challenges related to the border were also addressed, as well as the importance of strengthening social and health services in the region.
