Harlingen, Texas Declares October as Manufacturing Month

The municipal commission of the city of Harlingen and Mayor Norma Sepulveda officially declared October as Manufacturing Month, presenting the official proclamation to the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC).

The city of Harlingen, Texas will officially celebrate Manufacturing Month every October, as proclaimed by Mayor Norma Sepulveda and the municipal commission to the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (HEDC).

Current economic

The presence of 20 manufacturing companies and over 700 jobs that stand out in the sector are part of the current economic development opportunities provided, and by establishing this official commemoration, it reinforces the commitment of industrialists to keep production lines active and continually expanding.

Orlando Campos, CEO of HEDC, mentioned that the presence of this industry makes "Harlingen the ideal place to invest, with employment opportunities that support families and contribute to strengthening the economy."

Competitive Advantages

With this proclamation, the city commits to promote the arrival of new companies and facilitate their processes throughout. In a recent interview with Mexico Industry, Campos highlighted the competitive advantages offered to industrialists, including infrastructure with industrial parks, airports, ports, and international bridges, as well as educational programs, workforce, and personalized consultations for entrepreneurs.

Future Expectations

As part of the Manufacturing Month celebrations, Harlingen EDC launched the Industrial Bus Fair Tour program aimed at those seeking employment and interested in industrial careers. It also hosted a visit from Governor Greg Abbott to ITD Precision Stampings.

On the other hand, Jane Lozano, Manager of Business Retention and Expansion at HEDC, emphasized future expectations with the official commemoration: "The goal of Manufacturing Month is to recognize employment opportunities and efforts that will grow the workforce of tomorrow."
