Grand Top Sun Expands to Mexico with $55 Million Automotive Plant

Grand Top Sun has begun construction on a new plant in León, Guanajuato, with a $55 million investment in PILBA Industrial Park. This facility marks the company’s first production operation outside China.

Spanning 50,000 square meters, the new complex is expected to generate 800 direct jobs.

The Chinese company specializes in manufacturing decorative parts for the automotive sector using advanced techniques such as plastic injection, stamping, painting, plating, and assembly.

"The Grand Top Sun project not only reflects confidence in Guanajuato’s potential as an investment destination but also presents an opportunity to strengthen our automotive supply chain, one of the most dynamic in Latin America," said Cristina Villaseñor, Head of the Guanajuato Department of Economic Development.

With this new plant, authorities also anticipate a strengthening of the Guanajuato automotive cluster, solidifying the state’s role as a global leader in the industry.

Grand Top Sun executives highlighted the company’s strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility.

Commercial Relations

Currently, China ranks as Guanajuato’s seventh-largest trading partner, with investments exceeding $839 million and the creation of over 5,000 jobs in León, Irapuato, Silao, and Apaseo el Grande, according to the Guanajuato state government.
