Ford de México began operations at the Global Technology and Business Center (GTBC), located in Naucalpan de Juárez, State of Mexico.

The new center represents the future in work spaces, offering flexibility and well-being to the more than 4,000 employees who will gather in one place to collaborate and build the brand.

This campus, which is made up of corporate offices, one of the largest engineering centers in Latin America and first-class amenities , will allow Mexican talent to lead global transformation and modernization efforts in Ford's business model.

Ford de México is one of the three global centers in charge of carrying out these efforts , positioning itself as a strategic region for the company's operations, thanks to the quality, ingenuity, commitment and dedication of Mexicans.

The new facilities have the capacity to house up to 9,000 employees in a hybrid work scheme and this opens the opportunity to expand the brand's operations in the country, if necessary.

THE GLOBAL CENTER IS A SUSTAINABLE BUILDING

As part of this commitment, Ford de México developed a sustainability plan that protects each resource in the area, such as:

  • Zero waste: All waste will be recycled, composted, among other actions, which means that the waste generated on the Ford campus will not end up in municipal landfills. This same principle was used during its construction process, so all waste has been recycled.
  • Zero discharge:  this means that all residual water will be treated and reused in restrooms and irrigation of green areas, avoiding discharges in the municipal drainage.
  • Rainwater drainage system: In order to protect the environment and take care of the nearby community and its resources, the building has a rainwater control system, which aims to regulate the amount that runs off into the ravines to prevent their erosion and maintain their natural flow towards the local dam.
  • Lighting with programmed systems : All lighting throughout the campus is led and automated, which will represent significant energy efficiency compared to conventional lighting systems.

The new Global Center for Technology and Business integrates 4.2 hectares of protected natural green area in charge of Ford de México , which is being reforested by the company with the support of all employees, as part of an internal campaign that aims to maintain and increase this lung for the town.

One of the main objectives in the construction of this campus has been to take care of the ravines, avoiding erosion and contamination . As a result of this, Ford built a gabion wall that allows the flow of air and water to the subsoil, contributing to the non-erosion of the ravines that are under the protection of the company. As a result of this, Ford de México is proud to have the largest gabion wall in all of Latin America, a symbol of the effort of the blue oval company to maintain the protection of the ecology of the area.

Added to this wall is the creation of rainwater retention ponds , which will continue to feed the groundwater and the tributary of the local dam in a normal way, contributing to the care of the region's ecosystem.

Likewise, the space was designed based on the vision of the company and for this reason, this building could not be left behind in the era of electrification and has preferential places with electric chargers, encouraging the use of electric and hybrid vehicles.

HIGH-LEVEL FACILITIES THOUGHT ABOUT WELL-BEING

Under the approach to guarantee the well-being of people in a culture of collaboration, innovation and hybrid work model , the new facilities are designed with a holistic approach that integrates the needs of employees to achieve the development of their maximum potential. This campus offers an avant-garde and inclusive place, with the most modern tools to optimize operations and allow the company to continue with the firm objective of moving towards the future.

For Ford  , people come first and there are no limits to talent, therefore, the new Global Center for Technology and Business was developed with a 100% inclusive vision, which is why it has access ramps, intelligent elevators, and assistance visual and sound to provide accessibility for all.

On the other hand, taking care of the health of each collaborator is key, and for this reason, from the structure to the furniture, they were created and selected to offer the best work space in order to prioritize the well-being, freedom and flexibility of movement of everyone, taking care of every detail of the work experience; from body posture with ergonomic furniture to connectivity in 100% of the campus allowing them to work from the place they choose .

To strengthen the vision for a balance of life and work, the company's employees and visitors to this campus will have a gym, cafeterias, state-of-the-art medical service, mini mart, beauty salon, dry cleaning, soccer field, volleyball and green areas. to take walks and meditate.

With the start of operations in this new location and on its way to the future, today more than ever it continues to search for new talent.
