The Governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez Salinas, announced the arrival of Electrical Components International (ECI) to Torreón during a meeting that included state and municipal authorities, as well as company executives. The new facility will be located at the VYNMSA Torreón Industrial Park, further positioning La Laguna as a strategic hub for the electrical and automotive industries.
With an investment of 600 million pesos and the creation of 1,200 direct jobs, ECI joins Coahuila’s industrial ecosystem to produce electrical distribution systems in an environment characterized by security, legal certainty, and labor stability.
ECI: Expansion with a North American Vision
Headquartered in the United States, Electrical Components International is a global supplier of electrical solutions for sectors such as transportation, home appliances, and energy. Its decision to establish operations in Torreón responds to key factors such as rule of law and public safety, world-class industrial infrastructure, technical talent supported by dual training models, as well as its proximity and logistical advantages relative to the U.S. market.
Luis Noé González, President of the Transportation Business Unit for North America, thanked the support of the State and Municipal Governments and emphasized that “coordination between the State, Municipality, private sector, and community enables projects like this to be successfully implemented.”
Security and Certainty: Pillars of Economic Development
During the announcement, Governor Manolo Jiménez reiterated that Coahuila is the second safest state in Mexico, with three of the 15 safest cities in the country: Saltillo, Piedras Negras, and Torreón.
“Here, we have chosen to be facilitators, and we will continue to provide the best conditions for the arrival of more and better investments,” he stated.
So far in his administration, 7 billion pesos have been allocated to public safety, helping attract more than 150 billion pesos in national and international investment.
VYNMSA: Platform for Industrial Growth
The new ECI plant will be located in the VYNMSA Torreón Industrial Park, one of the region’s most modern industrial developments, offering specialized infrastructure for advanced manufacturing companies. Mario Chapa del Campo, CEO of VYNMSA, attended the event and reaffirmed the park’s commitment to attracting high-value investment.
