Bayer Expands Plant in Guanajuato with MXN 63 Million Investment
September 8, 2025
With an investment of more than MXN 63 million and the creation of 35 specialized jobs, Bayer inaugurated the expansion and new access point of its plant in Guanajuato. This project strengthens the multinational’s presence in the region and contributes to consolidating the state’s competitiveness in agro-industrial and technological sectors.
Advanced Infrastructure and Enhanced Security
The expansion includes the installation of an automated shelling line for pre-casting, designed to serve strategic clients such as Asgrow, Dekalb, and CB. In addition, a renovated access point and a security system with an automated, bulletproof booth—pioneering in Latin America—were built. These upgrades aim to increase productivity, optimize processes, and ensure proper conditions to attract new investments.
Boosting Value Chains and International Markets
According to the State Ministry of Economy, this investment reflects the interest of global companies in leveraging Guanajuato’s technological ecosystem, which integrates industrial parks, research centers, and universities. Collaboration with the private sector drives the application of science in traditional industries, strengthening value chains and opening new export markets.
Bayer’s plant exemplifies how technological modernization can integrate with traditional agro-industrial activities, adding value and reinforcing food security in the Laja-Bajío region.
The state has secured 31 investment projects during the current administration, with more than 7,600 jobs committed and an inflow of USD 2.53 billion, reflecting the trust multinational companies place in Guanajuato.
Strengthening projects of this kind will allow the state to maintain a steady pace of competitiveness while expanding employment and export opportunities.
