Bajío Industrial Park, located in Salamanca, inaugurated Building 06 and began construction of Building 10. Together, these projects represent a joint investment of $6.9 million USD and will create 225 new jobs. With these expansions, the park has accumulated $65.4 million USD in investment across its 24 hectares, reaching an occupancy rate of 87% and projecting a total of 1,275 jobs.

Building 06 received an investment of $4.4 million USD and is expected to generate 150 jobs, while Building 10 adds $2.5 million USD and will provide 75 additional positions. These projects expand Salamanca’s industrial and logistics capacity, making the city increasingly attractive for both domestic and international companies seeking to integrate into global value chains.

At the inauguration, Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo highlighted the regional importance of these projects, noting that they represent “a major driver of economic growth and more jobs for Guanajuato families.”

Guanajuato: A Magnet for Industrial Investment

Currently, Guanajuato hosts 47 industrial parks across 17 municipalities, covering more than 7,100 hectares, with 3,650 hectares still available for new developments. Since the beginning of the current administration, the state has attracted 28 new companies, generating over $2.5 billion USD in investment and more than 7,000 jobs.

The governor stressed that these new investments will not only strengthen Salamanca, but also surrounding municipalities such as Celaya, Cortazar, Villagrán, Juventino Rosas, Valle de Santiago, Jaral del Progreso, Pénjamo, and Abasolo, which will be integrated into supply chains in logistics, manufacturing, and auto parts.

The announcement also aligns with the recent launch of the Puerta Logística del Bajío, a federal project included in the Mexico Plan, which seeks to transform the Laja-Bajío region into a strategic logistics hub. This type of initiative strengthens Guanajuato’s role as a leading center for manufacturing and exports in Mexico.

Public-Private Collaboration Driving Growth

The event was attended by Berenice Bermejo Licea, General Director of Altea Desarrollos; Horacio Estrada Loera, Industrial Advisor at Altea; Claudio Aquiles Navarrete Rivas, Industrial Director at Altea; Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, Secretary of Economy of Guanajuato; Noe Ramírez Domínguez, Manager of Bajío Industrial Park; and Emilia Verástegui, Salamanca city councilwoman representing Mayor Julio César Ernesto Prieto Gallardo.

Speakers agreed that the combination of private investment, government support, and competitive industrial infrastructure is consolidating Guanajuato as a benchmark for attracting new companies.
