SelectUSA, the federal government initiative of the United States of America (USA) aimed at promoting foreign investment in the country, primarily focuses on attracting and facilitating investment from foreign companies. It supports and fosters the formation of a regional economy in North America to compete with other regions worldwide.

Santiago Davila, Commercial Officer at SelectUSA, highlighted that Mexico has become the leading exporter to the USA, surpassing China and Canada. While foreign trade is a significant aspect of this development as an economic bloc, investment is another equally important angle.

“We see SelectUSA, beyond just all Mexican investment in the United States, as another element in the creation of this economic bloc we aim to achieve,” Davila explained, adding that it will help North America compete globally as a region.

In this regard, events like the "2025 SelectUSA Mexico Conference," scheduled to take place in Mexico City on February 25 and 26, aim to identify Mexican entrepreneurs with expansion plans to the USA and guide them through an investment journey.

Through this event, Mexican investors will connect with economic development organizations (EDOs) from U.S. states in the west, central, and eastern regions to explore industrial opportunities, incentive packages, and receive guidance in various areas, including trademark registration and legal matters.

Another objective of this program is diversification, Davila noted. This is why the initiative seeks to showcase different U.S. states offering attractive incentive packages for Mexican investors, thereby increasing visibility and fostering communication between entrepreneurs and economic organizations.

As part of its efforts to identify entrepreneurs interested in expanding their operations to the USA, SelectUSA has organized a series of webinars to provide information on potential investment locations, their advantages, and incentives ahead of the "2025 SelectUSA Mexico Conference."
