American Industries participated in the World Trade Council of Wichita Executive Briefing & Dinner Program: Doing Business in Mexico, contributing to a high-level discussion on Mexico’s growing relevance within North American trade and production networks.
Sandra Malottky, Director of Business Development at American Industries, joined the program as a speaker, where business and academic leaders gathered to examine the opportunities associated with Mexico’s position as the United States’ largest trading partner.
Mexico and the Evolution of North American Supply Chains
The forum provided a platform to explore Mexico’s expanding presence in sectors shaping regional competitiveness, including aerospace, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, and integrated supply chains across North America.
For companies evaluating cross-border production strategies, Mexico continues to play an increasingly important role due to its industrial capabilities, proximity to the U.S. market, and integration under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA).
American Industries’ participation contributed practical insights on how manufacturers and investors are approaching expansion in Mexico within the context of nearshoring and regional supply chain optimization.
Wichita’s Aerospace Community and Cross-Border Collaboration
The discussion carried particular relevance for Wichita, a city widely recognized as a center for aerospace manufacturing and aviation innovation. As supply chains evolve, closer industrial collaboration between U.S. and Mexican production platforms is becoming increasingly important for sectors requiring specialized manufacturing and reliable logistics networks.
These exchanges allow companies and regional leaders to better understand how cross-border production models can support long-term competitiveness across North America.
Dialogue Between Industry, Government, and Academia
The program was also attended by Lily Wu, Mayor of Wichita, and Usha Haley, Barton Distinguished Chair in International Business at Wichita State University, underscoring the importance of the conversation for the region’s economic and academic communities.
Events like this provide an opportunity for industry leaders, policymakers, and academic institutions to engage in discussions that support trade expansion, investment flows, and stronger economic ties between the United States and Mexico.
Through participation in international forums, American Industries continues contributing to conversations that promote deeper understanding of Mexico’s manufacturing ecosystem and its integration into North America’s evolving industrial landscape.
