Amazon strengthens its operations with the opening of a new Delivery Station in Nuevo León

To announce the opening of the third Amazon Delivery Station, the Director of Operations of the e-commerce company, Diego Méndez de la Luz, made a tour accompanied by the Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, through its Shipping Center , of 21,000 square meters, located in the municipality of Apodaca.
“In the state of Nuevo León we have this Shipping Center, three Delivery Stations in municipalities of the metropolitan area. This site began operations in September 2020, it has an area of 21,000 square meters, it is enough to put here the fields of the Tigres and Rayados stadiums and in the middle the one of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, as a neutral field”, explained the manager to the end of the tour.
"We have capacity for more than 2 million products in this warehouse, but our clients in Mexico have 250 million products in the inventory of Mexico and the United States, because we also import a lot," he clarified.
He stressed that they are proud of the delivery speed of this Shipping Center, one can order something until 12:00 and it arrives that same afternoon, through the Amazon Prime service.
"The most important thing for us is that none of this would be possible if it were not for our employees, they are the ones who make everything possible, from the receipt of products to the delivery, thanks to our employees, their dedication, their work, we have deliveries possible the same day”, emphasized the Director of Amazon Operations in Mexico.
Additionally, Amazon has a Recruitment Center located in the center of Apodaca, which is the first in the country and which began operating in April of this year.
He affirmed that in Nuevo León they have more than 800 direct jobs, in the different operations and many of them have been recruited in this Center.
“The investment that Amazon has made in the state of Nuevo León, including infrastructure, benefits, salaries, since 2018 when we launched the first Delivery Station, represents more than 1,500 million pesos , which makes us very proud, and we have created , as I said, 800 (direct) jobs, and more than 1,000 indirect jobs, for all the supplies we have, colleagues in the last mile and related services”, he asserted.
Amazon Mexico, he explained, is one of the companies that promotes the strengthening of Mexico and Nuevo León, through better jobs and also has a positive impact on suppliers and the businesses they facilitate through small and medium-sized companies. (SMEs), which publish their articles through the Amazon electronic platform.
Start of Amazon in Mexico
The American company arrived in Mexico in 2015. Until 2020, Amazon's investments in Mexico for the production of goods and services contributed more than 13,000 million pesos to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
"We have many types of jobs for all types of people: we have generated more than 7,500 jobs in Operations and Corporate through 11 Shipping Centers, 32 Delivery Stations and a Corporate Office, directly and indirectly generating 15,000 jobs," Amazon mentioned. it's a statement.

For example, at the same rate that the Shipping Center is growing, they have developed the staff, and every 14 days on average. "We have promoted the promotion of a person, we are proud of that and we know the talent they have in Nuevo León."
It is worth mentioning that during the visit the Consul General of the United States in Monterrey, Roger C. Rigaud; the mayor of Apodaca, César Garza; and the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, among other state and municipal authorities and directors of Amazon.
In turn, the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda commented: “thanks to the finances of Nuevo León, this six-year term will have more than 100,000 million pesos of public works, that had never happened in Nuevo León.
