WTC Nuevo Laredo will begin formal operations in April

World Trade Center Nuevo Laredo will begin operations
in the city next April, joining thus the largest network worldwide which
currently has 328 licenses to operate facilities of WTC distributed in 91
countries and regions.
The one in Nuevo Laredo is number 71 of WTC’s opened
in North America and number 13th starting operations in Mexico.
In August 2017, Carlos Ronderos, regional director for
WTCA Latin America, and Martin Salloum, regional director for WTCA North
America, visited Nuevo Laredo as the first approach to explore the possibility
of settling offices here and they met with a Municipal and State Government
delegation.
After difficult managements, and due to the great
economic potential growth, its infrastructure in international trade and the importance
in Nuevo Leon industrial development, the request of Nuevo Laredo to open the
facilities of WTCA was approved, and later, the permit was granted for its
facilitates.
The secretary of Economic Development, Francisco
Javier Solis Morales said that WTC will be a new engine of economic development
in the city with an important trigger for this border and the Laredos region in
connectivity matters, as part of the largest business network in the world.
“We are seeking to have a 24/7 service. A project that will have service areas,
business connection and entertainment: an attractive concept for Nuevo Laredo
that locates the city as the most competitive from the point of view of the
country's border,” he said.
Nuevo Laredo preliminary project is made by the
company Impulsora de Proyectos e Innovacion Integral SAPI C.V. for the
implementation of such facilities in the city.
As part of the service missions, WTC will have the
Center for Socioeconomic and Technologic Innovation (Centro IST,) as well as
the Campus Startup Mexico in Nuevo Laredo, offering their services with
training areas for entrepreneurs and companies incubation.
The Project to build the new WTC has more than 10
hectares, to house spaces for conferences and congress, in addition of the
commercial area, hotels, corporate offices and of business with a preliminary
investment of more than 500 million pesos on a first stage.
For this concept, it is expected the creation of 3
thousand jobs in the area of restaurants and services that will be working
inside the business complexes.
WTC is the largest nonprofit Association in the world
regarding networking and business promotion matters among countries, from there
the impact expected for investment attraction in Nuevo Laredo.
