Japanese industrial refrigeration and compressor manufacturer Mayekawa has expanded its manufacturing footprint in the Ciudad Industrial del Valle de Cuernavaca (CIVAC), Jiutepec, backed by an investment exceeding $80 million USD.

The expansion positions the CIVAC facility as the largest plant in the world dedicated to manufacturing industrial compressors, integrating the entire production process under one roof.

Fully Integrated Manufacturing and High-VolumeExports

Unlike facilities that rely on outsourced components, Mayekawa’s expanded CIVAC campus centralizes the complete manufacturing lifecycle—from raw material casting and foundry operations to final assembly and testing.

  • Export Capacity: The Morelos plant exports 90% of its total output to international markets.
  • Workforce Impact: Mayekawa currently generates nearly 450 direct jobs in the region, with further employment growth anticipated as operational capacity scales.
  • Global & Local Heritage: Founded in Japan 102 years ago, Mayekawa has maintained operations in Mexico for 62 years and has anchored its manufacturing in Morelos for four decades.

"This new factory is the largest in the world dedicated to manufacturing industrial compressors and stands out for integrating the entire production process in one single location," stated Shin Maekawa, President and CEO of Mayekawa Global.

Institutional Backing and Diplomatic Presence

The inauguration event brought together corporate leaders, state officials, and diplomatic representatives to celebrate Mayekawa's 40-year milestone in Morelos: Margarita González Saravia, Governorof Morelos; Kozo Honsei, Ambassador of Japan to Mexico; Víctor Sánchez Trujillo, Secretary of Economic Development and Labor; and Eder Eduardo Rodríguez Casillas, Mayor of Jiutepec. And from de Corporate & Construction Leadership of the company: Shin Maekawa, CEO of Mayekawa; Antonio Domínguez, CIVAC Plant Director; and Yoji Okumura, President and CEO of Fujita Corporation.

Governor Margarita González Saravia emphasized that Mayekawa’s $80 million capital deployment reflects high confidence from Japanese investors in Morelos's skilled labor force, industrial security, and strategic location within Mexico’s export ecosystem.
