TRATON and Hino Motors join forces to promote electric mobility

TRATON and Hino Motors, Ltd. signed a joint venture agreement for electric mobility, in order to plan and provide products in this industry that will be based on the strategic partnership to offer customers the best value.
Both companies will combine their strengths to develop electric vehicles , including battery electric vehicles (BEV), fuel cell vehicles (FCV) and relevant components , as well as to create common EV platforms that include software and interfaces .
They will also form a team of advanced specialists from both companies and launch activities in Sweden and Tokyo, Japan. In addition, they will come together to shorten delivery times for future electric mobility products with cell and fuel cell technology.
Yoshio Shimo, President and CEO of Hino Motors, Ltd., said they are excited to be able to continue the joint acquisition venture and further incorporate the synergy with TRATON in electric mobility.
“We will help reduce global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, fighting global warming. We will combine our strengths as commercial vehicle manufacturers to offer electric vehicles with the highest value for customers. "

Therefore, this company plans to invest one billion euros until 2025 . Cadeb highlights that in 2018, Hino and TRATON signed an agreement with the goal of achieving a long-term, mutually beneficial strategic partnership . Based on a principle of offering customers the highest possible value, they established a joint procurement venture in 2019 and have now solidified their collaboration in electric mobility.
