The Marabis Castro del Río Industrial Park , located in Irapuato, Guanajuato, is one of the most successful complexes in the region and the country, and began the construction of its sixth stage, with which the growth of this industrial complex is consolidated.
In 150 hectares that make up this new phase, the arrival of between 50 and 60 companies is expected, which would mean the generation of approximately 1,800 jobs.
David Pascual Alemany, president of Grupo Marabis, announced that, although the company he represents builds warehouses and industrial parks, they have always gone beyond real estate, creating a business environment that favors the long-term growth of their clients, for this they anticipate the concerns of the industry and propose solutions that support the sector.
“If our customers are concerned about not having enough qualified labor, we try to install training centers in our industrial complexes. In Castro del Río we have the College of Technical Professional Education, which has been a pioneer in the dual education system and, soon, we will have a center of the State Training Institute ”, he revealed.
Over time they have also invested in technology and human resources focused on protecting the safety of the parks, thanks to this, they obtained a certification as a safe park by the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks, AC and are coordinated with the municipality from Irapuato to have a police delegation that not only serves the Marabis Castro del Río park, but also the surrounding communities.
As a self-sustaining measure, they are to generate an abundant and low-cost energy supply through the generation of electricity on site, as a complement to the service offered by the Federal Electricity Commission, in addition to the sale of natural gas.
"The intention is that our clients do not lose any project or growth opportunity because they do not have the essentials, that is why we are growing the park in 150 hectares, with spaces for purchase or rent, and in this way offer one more option to investors who decide to settle in the municipality, since years of economic prosperity are coming, "he said.
Vanessa Cordero, CEO of Grupo Marabis, said that, as part of the nearshoring strategies, this sixth stage will focus on attracting new foreign capital investments in order to generate more jobs.
In addition, he said that after the demand of the companies installed in the park for having greater certainty, quality and savings in the use of electrical energy, a project is carried out in order to find a more competitive and self-sustaining option for power generation.
Mauricio Usabiaga Díaz Barriga, head of the Secretariat for Sustainable Economic Development, celebrated the confidence that Marabis has in the region and in Guanajuato, since for more than 20 years they have constantly invested contributing to industrial growth.
"Guanajuato generates confidence, and this is because we have a vision that we have maintained for more than 30 years, with a dynamic economic policy with job stability and certainty for investors," he said.
IRAPUATO IN THE LOOK OF THE SUPPLY
Takao Nakahata, executive director of Jetro Mexico, said that in Guanajuato there are 300 companies and three assembly plants of Japanese origin, this entity being its main investment center.
In addition, most of the Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers are located in various industrial parks of the state and particularly in Marabis Castro del Río there are 46 companies of Japanese origin.
He recognized the quality infrastructure in the industrial parks developed by Marabis, as well as their strategic location due to the easy and direct access to the most important roads from the logistical point of view.
“There are still challenges to face in the automotive industry regarding the development of local supply, adapt to technological changes and comply with what is detailed in the Agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada regarding regional content, for this the Japanese industry will be the main actor and point of connection with the companies established in Mexico to support them to develop their supply chain and to be able to sell to the assemblers ”, he commented.
Currently, Grupo Marabis has a presence in Irapuato, Comonfort and Abasolo, with a total of 865 hectares built, housing more than 110 companies and generating a total of 20,000 direct jobs.
