The arrival of Milwaukee Electric Tool to Torreon was announced

After studies and negotiations where concluding which region is the ideal to settle, the American company Milwaukee Electric Tool officially announced its arrival in La Laguna with an investment of 86 million dollars.

This company is from the manufacturing area (construction tools) and will generate 2,660 jobs; it will be located in Torreon, starting operations in April 2020 and will have a Center for Technological Innovation which will contribute to increasing quality in La Laguna production.

Larry Boswell gathered at the Torreon Convention Center (CCT, by its Spanish initials) together with Gustavo Gutierrez, chief of operations of Milwaukee, director of Milwaukee; Miguel Angel Riquelme Solis, state governor; Jaime Guerra Perez, secretary of Economy; as well as Carlos Brana Munoz, president of the Chamber of the Transformation Industry (CANACINTRA, by its Spanish initials) Torreon and business representatives such as Jose Luis Hotema de Santiago, president of the Automotive Cluster La Laguna.

During his message, Miguel Angel Riquelme recognized that after visiting 15 cities, the company decided to settle here, as they found unity, teamwork, and coordination in La Laguna region.

“Milwaukee arrives in a region that offers it everything so its operations are a success; an entity where Rule of Law is guaranteed for those coming to invest,” said the governor of Coahuila.

The state official underlined that La Laguna region has more than one million inhabitants and that will be dedicated to noticing the workforce required by this company inside the educational sector, together with the mayor Jorge Zermeno and businessmen.

Meanwhile, Carlos Brana, president of CANACINTRA Torreon, explained that promotion tours organized by Coahuila are strenuous, and on his visit to China he visualized what this investment is for La Laguna, due to the kind of wages it could generate.

“Milwaukee launches at least 100 new products per year: it has some areas where they are continuously testing them, they knock down a wall by using them and there is personnel that raises the wall again to continue testing its quality,” he said.

He said that Milwaukee Tools generates development and attracts more investment, while he certified the coordination between the State and the Municipality for this settling.
