Production of the 100% electric BMW iX3 vehicle begins

The BMW Group celebrated the start of production of the first fully electric BMW iX3 , which is jointly built with BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) in Shenyang, China.
The workforce of the Dadong plant, BBA began the assembly process on September 29, 2020, of this model that guarantees a high level of efficiency and flexibility in the production lines.
Franz Decker, head of BBA's Technology and Production division, said the BMW iX3 is the first purely electric model from the German automaker's flagship brand.
"With a production system like this, specialized in high quality, we can deliver what customers around the world demand from Premium vehicles," he said.
In addition to smart manufacturing and cutting-edge technologies , BBA's production facility in Shenyang is distinguished by its quality management system . Which has a "zero defect concept" that ensures that the requirements of the world market for electric mobility are met .
BBA performs rigorous tests on the process, from the battery to the finished vehicle to ensure the safety of the model. They currently carry out 128 mechanical tests and 994 software functionality tests , which guarantee the high quality of high-voltage batteries throughout their life cycle; as well as 140 functional tests that check all aspects of the vehicle during acceleration, in particular road conditions and on rocky roads.
As a result, the BMW iX3 is ideal for all types of roads and meets the high demands of different driving conditions.
