Nefab Opens New 7,000-Square-Meter Monterrey Plant

Nuevo León

November 5, 2026

Global industrial packaging leader Nefab has inaugurated a new approximately 7,000-square-meter manufacturing facility in Monterrey, marking the very first time the company will produce its signature ExPak foldable industrial packaging directly in Mexico. Backed by a projection of up to 100 direct jobs, the plant aims to strengthen local supply chains for heavy, delicate, and high-value equipment while significantly reducing delivery times and logistics costs.

Situated within the Sabinal Industrial Park, strategically close to the Huinalá industrial corridor and the Apodaca airport zone, the facility will house specialized operational, engineering, and administrative personnel.

Optimizing Logistics: How Nefab ExPak Cuts Costs and Storage Space

Engineered from high-grade plywood featuring a nail-less foldable design, ExPak allows units to be transported and stored completely unassembled, offering critical supply chain efficiencies:

  • Weight Reduction: Weighs up to 40% less than traditional wooden crates.
  • Volume Optimization: Occupies 15% less cubic volume during transit.
  • Storage Space Savings: When stored flat, it reduces warehouse footprint requirements by nearly 60% compared to fully assembled packaging.

Additionally, the modular solution is fully reusable, depending on operational parameters and cargo requirements, minimizing long-term packaging waste.

Targeting Automotive, Electronics, and Data Center Sectors

Nefab’s localized production targets high-demand sectors such as automotive, electronics, telecommunications, and data center infrastructure, who sesensitive machinery demands heavy-duty transit protection.

Packaging designs can be rigorously tested in Nefab laboratories certified by the InternationalSafe Transit Association (ISTA) to simulate real-world route conditions.

Plant Manager Luis Sepúlveda noted that Monterrey-based engineers will collaborate directly with clients and Nefab's global network to tailor packaging solutions based on product weight, ergonomics, handling conditions, and space constraints.

"Local manufacturing of ExPak enables us to deliver tailored packaging precisely matched to the operational schedules and logistics planning of manufacturers in Mexico," highlighted Eric Wickman, Regional Managing Director for Nefab Latin America.
