Latécoère announced the acquisition of Shimtech de México (SDM) , an 80,000-square-foot facility located in Hermosillo, Sonora , the French-based company detailed in a statement.
This acquisition, said Latécoère , will accelerate the development of its composites production capabilities in North America , "better positioning the Group for future market developments."
SDM is a provider of precision engineered and advanced structural composite components and assemblies for the aerospace industry.
This announcement was made after the acquisition of Technical Airborne Components (TAC) at the end of August and is the second external growth transaction since the completion of the Group's capital increase at the beginning of that month.
"I am delighted that Shimtech de México is joining Latécoère . We are strengthening our activities and skills in Mexico to provide vertically integrated solutions for future platforms and better serve North American customers .
"This investment is a result of recent our acquisitions of TAC in Belgium and business EWIS of Bombardier [in Queretaro, Mexico ], which further strengthens our ambition to be a world leader in the aviation industry , " said Thierry Mootz, CEO of Latécoère.
The company announced that it will provide more information on the market at the close of the transaction, which is subject to a series of precedents of commercial and regulatory conditions.
