Estafeta invests 830 million pesos to improve its logistics infrastructure

In order to strengthen its distribution network for last mile delivery services, Estafeta carried out a reengineering of its infrastructure nationwide with the opening of eight new operating centers , the relocation and reengineering of 14 more , as well as the incorporation of 560 new vehicles to your land fleet.
Likewise, the 100% Mexican logistics company has taken into consideration not only the challenges posed by the global crisis caused by Covid-19, but also the pre-existing challenges for deliveries in urban centers such as mobility and the need for more points of delivery and contact with customers.
The response capacity required by the growth of electronic commerce during the health contingency - which was greater than 60% - led Estafeta to increase the investment figure programmed for 2020 since it was projected to be 664 million pesos, a figure to which an additional 25% was added, for a total of 830 million pesos .
In recent months, Estafeta has grown its infrastructure to reach a total of 126 distribution centers nationwide, while it has added 560 new vans for last-mile deliveries Caddy, Transit and Sprinter models in which it has invested 284. 5 million of pesos .
Jesús García Ibarra, national director of operations of Estafeta, commented that with the operational centers being in key locations, greater agility is offered in deliveries, which are starting their operation within a “new normal” that considers conditions of healthy distance, constant sanitation and medical surveillance.
"The new locations of the operational centers have allowed us to design a vehicular configuration that reduces the impact on traffic in the largest cities in the country where we operate, taking into account the important challenge we all have to improve urban mobility", He said.

- Locations of the eight new operational centers that support the growth of the last mile activity: Monterrey, Querétaro, Guadalajara, Toluca, Ecatepec, Michoacán, San Pablo Xalpa and Mixcoac in Mexico City.

THE NEW OPERATING CENTERS
- New Lion
Monterrey 2, San Nicolás Logistics Center, CLS. With an investment of $ 3,000,000 , Estafeta opened a new operating center in San Nicolás de los Garza that will process 132 thousand shipments per month .
- Querétaro Operational Center, South Zone
At the end of July, the new operational center of Estafeta in Querétaro began operations, this important point for the Bajío region will have this second operational center in the southern area to mainly serve courier and parcel routes, the investment was 3 million pesos .
This new location has 4,600 square meters of operation, offers 60 workstations and has intra-logistics and telecommunications equipment, low energy consumption conveyor belts and a capacity to process 88 thousand shipments per month.
- North Guadalajara
The investment made in this new operating center in Jalisco number 2 in Guadalajara was 5 million pesos and began operations at the beginning of September, from there 132,000 shipments will be processed per month. In an area of 8,500 operational meters, it offers 100 jobs.
