Dual Borgstena Opens New Automotive Plant in Coahuila

With the inauguration of Dual Borgstena’s new plant in Monclova, the Korean automotive supplier reinforces Coahuila’s position as a trusted destination for foreign investment. The project will generate nearly 900 direct jobs dedicated to the production of textile seat covers, strengthening manufacturing activity in the central region of the state.
Located in the Libramiento Norte Industrial Park, the new facility expands the presence of global companies within Mexico’s automotive supply chain. The plant is designed to manufacture high-quality fabric seat upholstery for global automakers, requiring specialized labor and adhering to the strict quality standards of the automotive industry.
Korean Investment Drives Employment in Monclova
During the opening ceremony, Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas highlighted that Dual Borgstena’s arrival represents more than 880 new jobs for Coahuila’s central region.
“With this investment, more than 880 new jobs are coming to our people,” he stated, emphasizing that Coahuila remains one of the best places in Mexico to live, grow, and invest thanks to its economic stability and investor confidence.
The governor added that most investments in Coahuila deliver positive results due to the state’s rule of law, labor stability, and security. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to generating formal employment and supporting projects that raise family incomes, offering full institutional support for Dual Borgstena’s future expansion plans in the region.
Monclova: A Growing Hub for Korean Companies
Representing the company, Ian Hwe Cho, Vice President of Dual Global, thanked state and municipal authorities for their support in establishing the new facility. He noted that other Korean companies are now considering Monclova as a strategic manufacturing base, further positioning the region as a center for advanced industrial activity and creating opportunities for local suppliers.
Luis Olivares Martínez, Secretary of Economy, described Dual Borgstena’s arrival as an investment with purpose, supported by the state’s infrastructure, talent, and stability.
Meanwhile, Carlos Villarreal Pérez, Mayor of Monclova, emphasized that collaboration between state, municipal, and private sectors is translating into projects that expand local employment and stimulate economic development.

Dual Borgstena’s investment aligns with Coahuila’s broader industrialization and investment attraction strategy, focused on automotive manufacturing and advanced industry.
