On September 30, the Nuevo León Household Appliances Cluster (CLELAC) will virtually hold the 7th Business Meeting (ENCLELAC), where more than 20 leading companies in the sector will present business opportunities for more than 700 million dollars.

According to Daniel Córdova, president of CLELAC, through this event the regional supply chain will be strengthened and, with this, the economic development of the state will be promoted.

"At CLELAC we are committed to constantly improving competitiveness and supporting each other among all the players in this industry," he said.

He argued that this meeting will be a growth opportunity for small and medium-sized companies: “With the changes that have been observed in recent months, we see a series of opportunities for our industry: the entry into force of the new T-MEC will strengthen the market of exporting household appliances to the United States, where Mexico is in second position, only behind China ”.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

For Baldwin Britton, vice president of the Board of Directors, ENCLELAC is an opportunity for Mexican companies - which have seen their economy and results affected by the pandemic - to find business alliances.

“The continuity of work that the electrical appliance industry has seen has even been a lifeline for many companies that have diversified their client portfolio and, now, with ENCLELAC, they can join new organizations as suppliers. Today SMEs have an opportunity to become suppliers in this sector, "he said.

Enrique Buchanan, leader of the CLELAC Supply Committee, explained that the meeting is designed in a 100% digital way, various webinars will be held, a virtual exhibition and the linkage platform will be direct between the tractor companies and the suppliers.

It will have the participation of more than 20 companies that are ready to invest, such as Branson (Emerson), Carrier, Criotec, Cuprum, Daikin, Danfoss, Dometic, Edwards Vacuum, Electrolux, Emicol, Friedrich, Güenter, Kohler, Mabe, Marathon Electric, Nidec Global Appliances, Panasonic, Pentair, Perlick, Trante Technologies, Universal Electronics Inc., Welbilt, Whirlpool, among others.

"It is expected that more than 700 business appointments will be generated in two days," he said.

The event is open to companies of different branches such as metalworking, packaging and packaging, plastic and rubber, glass, wood, raw materials, indirect services, among many other requirements requested by participating companies and which will be the main investment objectives towards the close of 2020.

Some of the inputs, products and services that the tractor companies are looking for are:

• Steel

• Harnesses

• Cables

• Heaters

• Capacitors

• Protectors

• Regulators

• Plastic Injection

• Impressions

• Indirect products

Betsabé Rocha, director of CLELAC, recalled that this cluster has been established for more than 10 years and that it integrates more than 70 manufacturing companies in the white goods, electrical appliances, air conditioning and heating sectors.

"The ENCLELAC is the result of the work done with all the manufacturing companies and Tier 1 of the sector, seeking to attract suppliers", he mentioned.

He stressed that the household appliance industry has been one of those that in general did not see its production paused during the strongest months of the health emergency, although the intensity of production was reduced in some lines.

"We hope that the full recovery of the industry will arrive at the end of the year, accompanied by a slight growth projection in 2021, this if progress is maintained with respect to health and trade," concluded Rocha.
