Chemical company opens a plant in Irapuato

In order to be closer to its customers located in Mexico, the chemical company Dipsol decided to open its Plant in Irapuato, Guanajuato.

 

This factory is considered the first one arriving Latin America, it had an approximate investment of 3 million dollars and it has a surface of 2,500 m2.

 

The main activity of Dipsol Mexico is the manufacturing, development and chemical distribution for the automotive and aeronautic sector; mainly for metallic surfaces treatment.

 

Isao Yamanouchi, president of Dipsol Mexico, said that in 2014 the Japanese company decided to open a Customer Service office in Irapuato, and when they saw the demand they chose to build a plant in such municipality.

 

Currently they have 30 customers in the country, among which are Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Hitachi, Okawa and Unipres; to whom they offer metallic finishes, sealers, zinc processes, alloys and trivalent chromates.

 

“We decided to be in the Bajio region to serve our customers.  Previously, this was made through the plant in the United States, but we saw the option of producing here in order for the delivery be immediate,” he said.

 

For now, 80 % of the raw material is imported from the United States and Japan, while the rest are from Mexican suppliers.  In order to improve the supply chain they expect that in the upcoming years local supply increases.

 

Dipsol will start formal operations in August, generating a production of 800 tons this year.  But it is anticipated that for 2019, they will be closing with a manufacture of 1,600 tons.

 

As it is a company that has systematized processes, they will create about 30 employees; currently there are Japanese engineers in this plant who will be training the operators for them to learn the procedure.

 

Production area

Within the manufacturing area of the Japanese company, they have 10 tanks for the generation of the product.  They have polished, of trivalent chromates process and detergent (alkaline) areas.

 

With the aim of having the control of the procedure they have a panel that achieves determining and analyzing the phases, the temperature systems and the revolution of each one of the methods; moreover, through this technology connections can be made with the plants in Japan and the United States, for them to supervise local production.

 

After they have a packing phase, machines are located under each tank, and which were installed equipment with filters to avoid they products having a pollutant.

 

They also have a cistern for water filtration and eliminate each one of the bacteria.  And to achieve it, they established an area with anti-pollution that has the objective of eliminating wastes that affect the environment.

 

There is also an inerting system, and treatment, polymerization and filtering systems in order for the water they use do not have heavy minerals, acidity, and neither gasification.

 

“The chemical west is kept in tanks and is delivered to a supplier for treatment and storage.  Sometimes we use a polymer that absorbs the product that we contaminated.  And these supplier companies use minerals for land treatment,” he said.
