With an investment of 100
million dollars opened the BMTS Technology Plant in Ramos Arizpe (Bosch Mahle
Turbo Systems,) German company producing turbochargers of cars’ exhaust,
commercial vehicles, and off-highway applications. Such systems make engines
more efficient and ecological, company technicians assure.
The plant, located at
VYNMSA Industrial Park, of Ramos Arizpe, will have 500 employees when operating
at 100 % of its capability, which will allow manufacturing about 2 million
turbocompressors of exhaust gases per year for the automotive market in North
America.
Its settling in Coahuila
will allow the German company to be more competitive in the North American
market of fuel turbo-feeding systems, which shows a growing demand for this
kind of technological development.
Gunter Semeja, general
director of BMTS Europe, explained the reasons that led them to decide to
settle in Ramos Arizpe, to reach the United States market even more and
“conquer it in the turbochargers sector.”
“Little more than a year ago the decision was made of building a plant
in Mexico, particularly in Ramos Arizpe. This is completely aligned to the
global growth strategy and the intention of conquering the North American
market of turbochargers which was not particularly in our radar at that
moment,” he noted.
“The decision of
establishing in Ramos Arizpe is based on different factors: first, we see the
great potential the automotive cluster has in the region (Southeast,) then, we
also have great infrastructure, and we are closer to our main customers. Our
expectation at the moment is to find highly qualified and motivated people here
in Coahuila and that expectation has been exceeded, we are very proud with the
Ramos Arizpe team,” said the directive of the German company.
Moreover, he said, having
the support of the authorities and suitable conditions for its global growth
and have the desired production.
This plant can access the global resources of BMTS Technology Group, which observes the ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 certification to fulfill the requirements of quality demanded by the automotive industry.
Strengthening the
automotive cluster
“These new investments, as
in case of BMTS, bring with them not only job generation, but they favor the
workforce specialization, the increase of productivity and creation of better
labor conditions,” said Jose Maria Fraustro Siller, secretary of government, in
the representation of Miguel Angel Riquelme Solis, governor of Coahuila.
He said that with this new
company the automotive cluster of the Southeast Region of Coahuila
consolidates, besides the state government has projected another tour of
economic promotion to China aiming to consolidate more investment projects, as
it has been done when showing the entity in countries like Korea, Germany, Canada,
and England.
He underlined the strengths
of Coahuila in labor formality matters, having a qualified workforce and with
high education standards, besides having a labor pact.
“We are also the second
state with higher export in the country and the first exportations of
transportation equipment, which make us one of the entities with higher
competitiveness, this means, the one that demonstrated more potential in
generating wellbeing for their inhabitants through labor conditions, education,
and incomes,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jose Maria Morales Padilla, mayor of Ramos Arizpe, welcomed the authorities and businessmen and underlined the coordinated work between the Municipality and the State in attracting and settling investments to generate well-paid jobs, as well as to provide peace and tranquility conditions in wellbeing in the entire population.
