BorgWarner: A clean, energy-efficient world

 BrogWarner was founded in 1928; among the founding companies are Borg&Beck, Marvel-Schebler, Warner Gear and Mechanics Universal Joint.  Currently they are leaders on the propulsion system for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles.

The history of the plant in San Luis Potosi dates from 1997, they started under the name of Remy Mexico, manufacturing starter engines and alternators of Remy and Delco Remy brands.  In 2015, BrogWarner acquired Remy and integrates starter engines and alternators to their products’ catalogue.

They have 67 locations around the world, among manufacture plants and technical centers.  In Mexico they have facilities in Saltillo; El Salto, Jalisco; Irapuato, Juarez and San Luis Potosi.  In the country they produce turbochargers, engine chains, friction separator plates, EGR systems, starters and alternators.

At the San Luis Potosi plant they manufacture starters engines and alternators for heavy service applications which include from commercial vehicles, farm equipment and of construction, to marine applications; in addition of light service vehicles, optimized combustion engines, hybrid propulsion, and completely electric propulsion.

Starter engines and alternators have characteristics and technologies that assure low combustible consumption and long service life.

Their products are mainly exported to the United States, Canada and all Latin American countries.  Also to Europe, Africa, Australia and some Asian countries.

The company has a global and national supply chain; leaders in pieces manufacturing that belong to different commodities in which they collaborate.

In order to guarantee the high quality standards of their products, the plant has designed an initial intensive training plan, structured in such manner that the theoretical knowledge received at the classroom, as well as in practice being developed in the workplace, allow them reaching the required efficiency and effectiveness.

BorgWarner has dedicated to create technologies to improve efficiency, emissions and the performance in all kind of people and freight transportation, creating solutions that support a cleaner and energy-efficient world.

BorgWarner is working in the development of the new generation of products, centered in energy-efficiency and environmental care.  In 2018, they will be finishing the construction of a local laboratory to facilitate products’ testing and the implementation of new technologies.
