Alejandra Martínez, Head of Business Marketing and Labor Market Studies at CompuTrabajo, stated that obtaining the first job turns out to be a challenge, but contrary to what you might think, in the country there are more and more companies that are betting on candidates inexperienced, who can train and develop.

"It certainly benefits if the employee seeks further professional growth or a job change," he said.

Some of the companies that are committed to hiring profiles without work experience are : Grupo Salinas, Sport Palace, Cinépolis or TTec . On the other hand, some sectors that are looking for internship talent are Human Resources, Engineering, Design, Administration and Accounting.  The average salary offered to fill a vacancy that does not require experience in Mexico is 3,900 to 5,000 pesos per month.

That is why CompuTrabajo  recommends the following tips in case you are looking for a first job:

Keep in mind what you want to work on and where

Not because it is your first job, you should downplay the activities and the place where you want to work. In fact, the recommendation is that from the beginning you seek to enter the desired industry , since this way you will obtain faster experience and the opportunities for professional growth in that industry may increase.

Properly structure the CV

Although there is no work experience, it is important that the academic background, as well as the emotional and extracurricular training skills, are highlighted within the CV. On the other hand, it is recommended to include keywords that match those that appear in the description of the offer and in turn are related to the candidate's CV.

Lean on job portals and social networks

The highest probability of finding a job offer that fits a profile is on job portals such as  CompuTrabajo . It is suggested to familiarize yourself with these job portals, their characteristics, advantages and tools, such as alerts. As for social networks, it is recommended to create a network of contacts, take care of your digital reputation, contact headhunters and follow your favorite companies.

Practice the interview

Before an interview, it is recommended to review the points that the candidate wants to highlight during the interview. It is also suggested to be punctual, choose the clothing according to the requested position, have the CV printed, as well as a notebook to write down any information that may arise and do not forget to ask the interviewer a couple of questions about the company or the position.

Review foreign languages, if required

English can become a requirement to be selected, even, on many occasions, it becomes a relevant tool of the selection filter. The suggestion is to prepare the answers to the possible questions; make a list with the vocabulary that you think is most necessary; and converse with someone who simulates the interviewer part.
