160 million dollars will be invested in the Magdalena 2 project in Tlaxcala

The Government of Tlaxcala announced the investment of 160 million dollars from the company Enel Green Power, for the project of renewable energy generation “Magdalena 2.”

 The Governor Marco Antonio Mena Rodriguez held a meeting with the representatives of the multinational company of renewable energy in Mexico, through which they agreed to support the project to be settled in the entity, which will generate 700 direct and indirect jobs during the installation.

 Paolo Romanacci, general director in Mexico and Central America of Enel Green Power, said that the agreement with the State Government, in a near future they will be starting the process of the construction of solar energy therefore there is observed the installation of more than 550 thousand panels, with which they will become in the largest solar plant in America.  Likewise, he mentioned that among the competitive advantages of Tlaxcala are its connectivity and economic stability.

 It is estimated that such plant will be starting operations in the middle of 2019, with a capability of 231.18 megawatts and it will be located in a surface of one thousand hectares in the region of Tlaxco and Hueyotlipan, and it will be selling energy to other companies.

 The Italian company Enel Green Power is the first one of its kind in Tlaxcala and is present worldwide through its plants dedicated to the generation of renewable energy of different types.

 At the meeting with members of the Government and from Enel company, were present Jorge Luis Vazquez Rodriguez, secretary of Economic Development; Stefano Stortoni, Consul of Italy in Puebla and Tlaxcala; and Guillem Masip and Rafael Burgos, project manager and director of institutional affairs, respectively of Enel Green Power.
