ZF will expand its plant in Querétaro; will invest more than 1,279 million pesos

The automotive company ZF will invest more than 1,279 million pesos in the expansion of its facilities in the Bernardo Quintana Industrial Park, located in the municipality of El Marqués , Querétaro . The start of this project is scheduled for next April. 

Ubaldo de la Hoya , manager of the ZF Querétaro plant , explained that the new expansion project consists of strengthening the address systems division. 

"It is through the conversion of the infrastructure that the company currently has into production space and the construction of a new industrial warehouse, where there will be manufacturing and assembly processes," he said.

The investment will generate 500 new jobs , which will join the more than 3,000 that the company offers in the state. 

Francisco Domínguez Servién , governor of Querétaro , highlighted the effort of the German firm to grow in the entity, where it has found competitive human talent. 

 

AUTOMOTIVE SECTION

During the investment announcement, the president added that the automotive sector ranked the state in second place nationally, in the first quarter of 2020, in international sales of auto parts , according to Data México .

In that period, Querétaro made 15.5% of the sales of the entire country in the auto parts sector.

Added to the drive in the sector is effective linkage, through an automotive cluster made up of 93 associates , added Domínguez Servién .

Cecilia Bustamante Mier y Terán , in charge of the Office of the Secretariat for Sustainable Development (Sedesu) in the state, reported that the auto parts subsector has the highest receipt of foreign capital in the entity, with 818 million dollars in the period of 2015 to the fourth quarter of 2020 .

He explained that during the current state administration, 74 projects in the automotive sector have been completed , with an investment of 22.639 million pesos. These investments have created 18,876 new jobs.

GERMANY

Francisco Domínguez also recognized that the expansion of the ZF plant in Querétaro strengthens ties with Germany ; "We are united by a long friendship, a historical-cultural bond, as well as strong ties of economic cooperation," he said.

The head of the state Executive Power shared that, from October 2015 to February 2021, 20 investment projects of German origin have been completed , representing more than 8,819 million pesos and the creation of 6,747 jobs.

On the other hand, and after highlighting that Germany is an important commercial partner for Querétaro , the head of the Sedesu Office reported that according to the Ministry of Economy, 176 companies with capital of German origin are reported in the state, companies  that are They are mainly engaged in the wholesale trade sector in machinery and the manufacture of parts for vehicles and equipment for the manufacturing industry.
