ZF Group announced an investment of 240 million euros in the opening of a distribution center and the expansion of its manufacturing plants in Querétaro by more than 80,000 square meters.

With this, the company plans to generate more than 1,300 new jobs in the next five years.

This increase in capacity will help it meet the growing needs of leading global customers for chassis technologies, including ZF's Integrated Brake Control system, as well as Electric Power Steering Systems.

"ZF's presence in Mexico is one of the largest and, in fact, our team in Mexico represents the largest number of employees ZF has outside of Germany," said Martin Fischer, President of North America and Member of the Board of Directors of ZF. ZF group.

In the country , ZF Group has approximately 23,000 employees in 18 locations, three of these in Querétaro, where it has been operating since 1984. Today, the entity has brake system facilities at the Santa Rosa and El Marqués plants; in the latter also a plant of one of address systems; all of them are being expanded.

The three facilities currently have nine production areas where 3,450 employees produce the most advanced braking and steering systems for light vehicles, including those with electric powertrains and autonomous driving systems, as well as steering systems for commercial vehicles.

Paulo César Vigolo, Vice President of Operations ZF Mexico Div. A , commented that in Querétaro with this investment it is estimated that 3 billion dollars will be produced annually, an “extremely” important increase for the company.

Once the new plant is in operation, Vigolo estimated, it could achieve sales of 400 million euros or even one billion euros.

The products from this plant that will count will be directed to the category of emobility (electric mobility)  for electrification that means the future of the automotive industry and that "will pass through the hands of the people who are here."

In this regard, the Secretary of Sustainable Development of the state, Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, commented that this investment is added to the more than 1,600 million dollars that were captured in 2022 in foreign direct investment projects.

He stressed that with this operation, Querétaro will go from being a specialist in auto parts to a specialist in the manufacture of automotive systems, which adds value to the investment made by ZF Group.
