Zacatecas, Mexico - In a promising turn of events,
the state of Zacatecas has demonstrated a robust surge in the generation of
formal employment, according to official figures released by the Mexican Social Security Institute
(IMSS). As of September 30, the state has reached record-high numbers, boasting
198,248 registered job positions—a clear indicator of positive trends in job
creation for the region.
In the month of September 2023, Zacatecas added
2,812 more formal job positions compared to the same period in 2022, when the
figure stood at 195,436 formal jobs.
Key sectors driving this uptick in employment
include commerce, social and communal services, as well as agriculture and
livestock. Noteworthy is the contribution of specific municipalities to the
surge, with Río Grande, Zacatecas, Calera, and Morelos emerging as leaders in
the formal job creation landscape.
Rodrigo Castañeda Miranda, Head of the Secretariat
of Economy, emphasized that Zacatecas has successfully regained positive
momentum through the establishment of new formal jobs. This, he highlighted,
plays a pivotal role in fostering both the economic development and overall
well-being of the local population. The encouraging data reflects a promising
trajectory for Zacatecas, positioning it as a beacon of economic resilience in
the region.
